Marine Biomedical Hosts Joint Standing Committee on Northern Australia

Marine Biomedical was proud to host the Joint Standing Committee on Northern Australia this week as part of their inquiry into preparing Northern Australia for emerging industries. The visit was an important opportunity to connect directly with decision‑makers and highlight the work we’re doing to build a world‑class biomedical manufacturing capability in northern WA.

During Wednesday’s tour the team showcased the realities of operating a cutting‑edge facility in a remote location, from innovation and workforce development to the infrastructure needed to support advanced manufacturing in the north. It was a chance to demonstrate why northern Australia is an ideal place for emerging industries to grow.

On Thursday, our Co-Founder and COO Patrick Moase, formally presented to the Committee, sharing our experience as a northern‑based biomedical company and outlined the support and policies needed to help new industries scale. We emphasised the opportunities this sector brings to regional communities, including skilled jobs, economic diversification, and strengthened sovereign capability.

We thank the Committee for their time and energy, and value the Committee’s interest and the chance to contribute to this important national conversation. Marine Biomedical is committed to showing what’s possible when innovation is backed in the north and to playing a leading role in shaping the region’s future.
