Mal Di Giulio (CA)

Mal Di Giulio is the Chairman of Nexia Australia and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

In his capacity as a business and financial advisor, Mal predominantly works with privately-owned businesses specialising in business performance improvement, business and strategic planning, consolidation, acquisition strategies, merger/demerger strategies, venture capital, trade sales and acquisitions, and financial analysis.

Mal sits on several client and advisory boards, leads Nexia Perth’s Investor Ready program and is an authorised representative of AFS licensee Nexia Perth Corporate Finance Pty Ltd.

Professor Ming Hao Zheng

Professor Ming Hao Zheng is Co-Founder of Marine Biomedical and an internationally renowned physician, scientist, and inventor in orthopaedics.

He is the Co-founder and consulting Chief Scientific Officer of Orthocell Ltd and established Orthocell based on a venture capital fund of $500,000 in 2007, with today’s market cap value of over $100 million. A Professor and previous Associate Dean (International) of the School of Medicine at University of Western Australia, Professor Zheng has over 25 years research and development experience in regenerative medicine and has authored 250 medical publications.

Professor Zheng holds 35 worldwide patents, with two medical devices receiving U.S FDA approval. His research and registered patent on PearlBone™, now wholly owned by Marine Biomedical, were finalists in the 2019 WA Inventor of the Year awards.

Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson is the Managing Director and a founding member of Orthocell Ltd, a publicly listed regenerative medicine company dedicated to the development and commercialisation of autologous cellular therapies and collagen scaffolds.

Paul has 20 years’ experience in the health care sector and exceptional knowledge of the regenerative medicine field, including the process of taking cellular therapeutic and biological technologies from research to clinical applications. In 2006, Paul co-founded Orthocell to pursue his passion of developing and translating innovative biological therapies in the musculoskeletal area.

Robert Banfield

Robert Banfield is the Chairman and co-owner of Willie Creek Pearls, a Western Australian business that provides the complete pearling experience, from farming through tourism and culminating in a showroom of their magnificent pearl jewellery and products.

With perseverance, integrity, and passion, Robert has overseen the evolution of the proudly family-owned business into a multi-faceted, vertically integrated company. Under his stewardship, the Banfield family name has become synonymous with tourism in Broome.

Robert is a key advocate for the Broome and Western Australian tourism industry, having served on the boards of The Broome Visitor Centre, Australia’s North West Tourism, the Broome Chamber of Commerce and the Kimberley Development Commission. Robert is proud to contribute to the progression of Marine Biomedical and sees the opportunity as a way of reinvigorating the WA pearling industry.

Stephen Murphy

Stephen Murphy has more than 30 years’ experience in the finance industry, with expert knowledge of treasury, mergers and acquisitions, equity markets and corporate transactions.

Stephen was a founding Executive Director of Veritas Securities Limited, and jointly established the Perth office of Grange Securities Ltd. He has previously worked with UBS and Bankwest in senior executive roles in Equities and Treasury and has board experience in the agriculture and financial services sectors.

With co-founders Professor Zheng and Mr Paul Anderson, Stephen Murphy formulated and established Orthocell Limited in 2006.
